The Sage Business Awards, in partnership with The Daily Telegraph, have been running since 1997 and are a celebration of British businesses as a force to be recognised with across the globe.

These awards are not limited to any individual sector of business and truly reflect the diversity and entrepreneurialism of British business today. They are aimed at reflecting good business practices, superior leadership, impressive customer service and imaginative and innovative use of the web.

This is an awards programme that encompasses the entire UK business world.

It was a great honour for Medibroker to be invited to attend the 2003 Business Awards, which were held at the Magpie Suite at St James Park, home of Newcastle United FC.

Medibroker were nominated for, and especially proud to win, the "Best Customer Service Initiative" category. In judging this award, the judges quoted a survey undertaken by Sage, which reported that:

"UK businesses said that delivering good customer service was as important to the success of their business as making a profit. In uncertain times, you need to be able to attract and retain customers. Key to delivering good customer service is getting to know your customer base and target market, and then meeting their needs."

The judges were looking for an innovative and successful approach to customer service with proven results over the past 12 months.

Upon receiving the award, Mr J Leslie Smith, Chairman and Managing Director of Medibroker Limited, said:
